Oceans

by Brahm Stuart

The oceans of life surround the continents,
The continents did rise out of the vast mighty sea,
The oceans gave birth to the first sentient beings,
From the oceans did germinate the Earth's family tree;
The high seas of old are deep and mysterious,
Many secrets lie hidden, many pearls in the sand,
Much wisdom there is can be revealed by reflection,
Looking up to the heavens, the seas understand.

CHORUS :
Oceans, mighty keepers of water,
You embrace Mother Earth like a glove,
To all that is living you're eternally giving
That moisture sustaining
As from high you come raining
In showers of Neptune's love.

Our planet began as a molten ball of fire,
From this fire mist condensed and did rain on the Earth,
You hardened and cooled and gave shape to the world,
You provided the womb for all life to take birth;
I'm filled with respect to gaze out o'er the ocean,
I sing praises to you, oh, great nourisher of life,
Great was the marriage that occurred on this planet,
When the dry barren Earth did take you for his wife.

( repeat CHORUS )

The aquatic fluids that fill up our bodies
Are a testament to the role that you play on this Earth,
You course through our veins bringing life to each cell,
You envelop each embryo awaiting it's birth;
Aquarius is called the great water bearer,
He is pouring out his water from the sky to the land,
Water of life is poured forth for thirsty men,
Clear the air, reveal the light, that we may understand.

( repeat CHORUS twice )
