The World We Leave
by Brahm Stuart
The Earth keeps turning,
Can you feel it turning?
She's turning on;
Her fires are burning,
Can you feel those flames?
They're burning on.
The rain keeps falling,
Has it fallen on you?
I've been fallen on;
The wind is calling,
Can you hear the wind?
Like a sweet, sweet song.
Look around what do you see?
An Earth that's fit
For you and me.
But what will our grand children recieve?
What kind of world will we leave?
Will we leave?
The Earth is crying,
Can you hear her cry?
Yes, I can hear her moan;
Her lakes are dying,
Do you know about death?
I don't have to be shown.
Industries are pumping,
They're filling up our skies!
With their disease;
Power plants are dumping,
Nuclear waste
Into the seas!
Look around what do you see?
An Earth that's fit
For you and me.
But what will our grand children recieve?
What kind of world will we leave?
Will we leave?
Flourocarbons and nuclear waste,
We've done quite a job messing up this place,
We're going to have to change our style
In order to survive, to survive!
The atmosphere is losing
The ozone layer
Is being torn apart,
We are abusing
Our own sweet Mother Earth
So we had better start
Finding some solutions,
We had better stop
Ruining the Earth,
All of evolution
Is depending on us
What is it worth?
Look around what do you see?
An Earth that's fit
For you and me.
But what will our grand children recieve?
What kind of world will we leave?
Will we leave?
Our children are crying,
Why are they crying?
Look what we have done!
This planet is dying,
It's our only world
There's no place to run!
Look around what do you see?
An Earth that's fit
For you and me.
But what will our grand children recieve?
What kind of world will we leave?
Will we leave?
